First Sunday of the campaign -- 2 April 2006

Sunday shifts allow the callers to chat with alumni in Europe, the UK and North America. Such was the case on this day, when current students spoke to people in Switzerland, Greece, France, U.S.A. and Canada.

Total raised was over £7400 -- bringing the campaign total to just under £33,000 for the first week of calling.

Conversations included being an Aston auntie, the very enjoyable House of Commons reunion two years ago, coming to conferences in the Aston Business School building, being captain of the Aston water polo team, moving to New Zealand, coming back to Sacks of Potatoes to watch Chelsea vs Aston Villa recently, teaching in Canada, being sponsored by an organisation for the MBA programme, 'mum's taxi service', mountaineering club trips to France and Switzerland, working in the charitable sector, meeting their spouse at Aston ... and much more.

Best story of the day: Playing for the men's hockey team and getting a black eye -- this from a woman graduate!
