Actually, I was very lucky to have a chance to join the telephone campaign. At first, I was a little bit worried about this. You know, it’s sometimes difficult to talk to people who you do not know at all, never even met.

Nevertheless, two weeks after starting, I like this challenge much more. I have heard many wonderful stories from people who graduated from Aston – even 30 years ago. Most of them were so nice and gave me much advice on my studies and life in Birmingham.

Oh, it’s really not bad. Although staying far away from my hometown, with a different culture, different environment and different people, I’m not lonely at all. Sometimes I feel tired when I have finished my lectures and course work, however, I get together with friends who come from all over the world. We enjoy our parties and have great chats, which let me forget that I am living in a foreign country.

I spend my spare time in the Aston sports centre -- swimming and badminton are my favourite activities. Listening to music is another way to relax.
I hope everyday can be a new start! :)”
