Answerphone hell - Wednesday 5 April

Inevitably, during every phone campaign there will be one night when it seems that you have hit the answerphone wall because regardless to whom or when you ring, everyone seems to be out.

Wednesday was just such a night.

Despite being frustrating for the student callers, it was a successful night, bringing the total for the campaign to over £48,000!

Very interesting conversations took place, from the situation in Iraq to an importing business in Nigeria, from weddings on a beach in Jamaica to new babies and taking early retirement, from real ale to booking acts as entertainment officer like Blur and Jools Holland to rugby, and from travel and working in France to getting in touch with lost classmates.

Fav quote of the night: "Ask me when I'm older and more nostalgic".

Best story of the night: Being part of the European society and going to Brussels with the Guild. Getting stranded in Brussels because she and her friends missed the coach. She also got locked in at the Botanical gardens and had to climb the fence to get out!
